DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITY.

In 1992, the General Assembly declared the International Day of Disabled persons. The day is International observance promoted by the United Nations. It is celebrated every year on 3 December to encourage a better understanding of people affected by a disability, together with helping to make people more aware of their rights, dignity, and welfare of disabled persons in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life. The theme for this year's(2022) International Day of Disabled persons is "Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world".

The day is celebrated to create awareness of the rights of Disabled persons. This information is passed through the global media. It also helps them to know their rights. It ensures that people with disability have access to the same rights and opportunities as everybody else.

The right to family life and the right to participate in social, creative or recreational activities; the prohibition of differential treatment for residential purposes, the right to the same living conditions as persons without disability when persons with disability are placed in special institutions; no exploitation, abuse, discrimination against persons with disability, appropriate facilities when involved in court proceedings; and access to public places. These are some various rights disabled persons enjoy in the country.

People with a disability must receive the necessary respect, praise, and honor from the community. They can create beliefs, influence feelings and decisions, impact people's daily lives, and even influence social policy. Using respectful, positive terminology shows people with disabilities that they have a role in the community like everyone else. Creating a good interpersonal relationship with Disabled people helps them to also bring up the betterment of the community through their innovation, creativity, and intellect.

People with disabilities need the same skills as those without disabilities to become financially empowered. They need to learn to create a spending plan, effectively use banks and manage their debt and credit. In addition, they need to understand public benefit programs and the disability service system.

Any Disabled person must not be considered a threat or a reason for the decline of something. They must be treated as people with no disability in other to meet great aspirations.
